Good Health Starts in the Gut

April is Bowel Cancer Awareness Month, which means it is time to book our corporate wellbeing seminar “Good Health Starts in the Gut”.

As the gorgeous Dame Deborah James proved, cancer can affect people of all ages – please don’t fool yourself into thinking you are too young to have bowel cancer.

There are five red flag symptoms that you should look out for:

Blood in your stools or bleeding from your bottom

A persistent change in bowel habit

Feeling very tired for no obvious reason

Unexplained weight loss

A pain or lump in your stomach area

If you have any of these symptoms, please make an appointment to see your GP. There is no need to be embarrassed – your GP is used to talking about bodily functions and will be un-phased by whatever description you use for your symptoms. Men in particular can suffer from FOFO – Fear Of Finding Out, which can lead to late diagnosis and poorer outcomes from treatment. The sooner you find out what is going on the better.

Our seminar features Good Health Starts in the Gut

We encourage all of our corporate clients to include our “Good Health Starts in the Gut” seminar in their corporate wellbeing programmes. Digestive health may not be getting the attention that mental wellbeing is at the minute, but if you catch one early incidence of bowel cancer in an employee through booking our talk, then that is money very well spent!

We take your audience on a journey…

In the one-hour seminar we take your audience on a journey through the digestive tract, from the mouth to the anus. We look at how the body processes food and what can be done to support the digestive process, from chewing thoroughly to choosing the right foods. Along the way we call out common digestive complaints such as acid reflux, bloating and irritable bowel. As always, we provide top tips for diet and lifestyle changes, as well as exploring some specific diets such as FODMAP to help you decide on the right course of action for your own digestion.

If you are interested in booking this or any other of our seminars please email us now at info@vitalhealthnutrition.co.uk. All seminars are available in person or on-line.
