Emily from Vital Health Nutrition came into both of our offices to deliver a talk on mental wellness to help us understand what we could be doing to help support our own mental health, through nutrition.
The talk was fantastic, and well the tasting table was just incredible. Emily spent about an hour talking through different foods, nutrients, vitamins and fats that can help support mental wellness, I think many of us had heard a few of the things before, but had never realized how big the impact could be, just from making some very small changes, it was amazing to be given actual food examples that could help you get the things you need. The tasting table after the event was full of yummy foods, from sardines and hummus, granola, berries and yoghurt to peanut butter and banana on oatcakes,

As a company we care about our people and it’s nice to be reminded that you as an individual should care about yourself, this was a great way to deliver something with value, and support mental health.
Emily has now given a number of talks at Harwood Hutton. She is an excellent presenter and her knowledge and experience soon become very apparent. The most recent talk on Mental Wellness was very well received and it is noticeable that members of staff have already made a number of changes to their diet and lifestyle – less chocolates and cakes and more nuts and fruit on their desks. Emily does not shy away from using “terminology” but it is always very well explained and her talks are pitched at the level where everybody can understand. She gives very practical advice about diet and lifestyle – nothing complex or difficult. Emily is very giving of her time and always spends time answering questions and speaking to participants after the seminar to deal with any personal questions.
